How to hack the Radio Shack 12-470
- Take out the 3 case screws (one will be located in the battery compartment) and gently pry the radio casing apart.
- You should be looking down at a circuit board that has a row of multicolored wires, there will be 11 wires total.
- With the top of the radio facing left, count the wires from left to right, it will be the 7th wire (it's usually a green wire).
- If you aren't sure you can always do what I do, and I always just unscrew that board that's fastened down, and flip it around and it will be labeled MUTE. Whichever wire runs to MUTE, cut that wire..
- Place everything back how you found it, and screw the case back down.
